Once you your accomodation, you must register it at the City Registration office (Rathaus) within 2 weeks of your contract starting.

Inform yourself well about short- and long-term consequences of private health insurance.
Going for a walk, make sure not to walk on the bike lane. The bike lanes are usually red in colour or have signs.
Be very careful with whom you share your personal information. Avoid sharing your personal details if you can.
Always make a housing contract. Never sign a contract if you have any doubts. Have your contracts checked by a german speaker if needed. Take someone with you if you are visiting an accommodation.

Find yourself a House Doctor in your area. In Germany, we consult our House Doctor for any health-related issues. If further treatment is needed by a specialist, you need to find one by yourself and bring along the document provided by your House Doctor(Überweisung). We go to the hospital or Clinic only for life-threatening issues.
At the Studierendenwerk, there is psychological counselling which is anonymous and confidential.
